Madelyn Trupkin Herzfeld, IMER’s president and founder, is an active Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) member and is OCN-certified. Madelyn is passionate about the importance of continuing education for oncology nurses. As IMER was in its infancy, she worked concurrently for two years as a clinical nurse II on an inpatient oncology unit at Memorial Health Systems in Hollywood, Florida, to receive additional clinical oncology training.
Prior to founding IMER, Madelyn worked in business development at an oncology-focused medical education company. She started her career at Bear, Stearns and Co. Inc. as a financial analyst in their investment banking healthcare services/pharmaceutical group. After completing her two-year commitment, she worked as an associate for Pinnacle Partners, Inc., a boutique investment bank focusing on middle market healthcare service companies.
Madelyn received dual degrees from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business, with a concentration in Health Care Public Policy and Management, and School of Nursing.
Dr. Dulko is director of oncology nursing at IMER, where she is responsible for the evaluation and development of enduring and live educational programs, ensuring that content is scientifically accurate, current, and clinically relevant. She earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from State University of New York at Stonybrook, and is nationally certified as both an adult health and women’s health nurse practitioner. She received her doctoral degree from the University of Utah, College of Nursing, in Salt Lake City. Her research focused on implementation of clinical practice guidelines and the effect on cancer pain outcomes. She is an active member of the Oncology Nursing Society and Sigma Theta Tau. She brings a wealth of clinical expertise in oncology, women’s health, and supportive care to her role at IMER, including her most recent experience as an acute care nurse practitioner at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. Dr. Dulko also participated in the Oncology Nursing Society-sponsored Core Data Set Project to develop a strategy for the collection and use of measures that document effects of nursing interventions on patient outcomes in the clinical, research, and administrative settings. Her work at IMER is driven by her belief that every patient with cancer deserves the highest quality care and that excellence in continuing education empowers oncology nurses to deliver that care.
